The important steps of a huge server

I m building a huge server, I have the money/marketing to support it, I m hiring developers and staff so we can start to make a really cool mini-game server with tons of stuff.

But I want to get some opinions from experienced people.

What you guys think it's most important in building servers for huge communities?
