Multicraft help

I recently setup multicraft on my server without the license, and now I have the license. I am having trouble getting the license to work. The directions are to make a file called "multicraft.key" and put it in the /home/minecraft/multicraft directory. In the multicraft.key file you enter in the license key. I did exactly as the directions stated.

Is there a specific thing I need to do?
